  • As a software engineer, you will likely research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. In this profession, you analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Additionally, you may update software or enhance existing software capabilities.

    You may even work with computer hardware engineers to integrate hardware and software systems and develop specifications and performance requirements. Some also may maintain databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team.

  • This is an online course that combines live sessions and self-paced materials. An instructor will go over the topic in the scheduled session, and then you will be required to go over the material on your own time.
