Long Term Care Administration, M.L.T.C.A.

The Master of Long-Term Care Administration (M.L.T.C.A.) degree will prepare students to be leaders in the field as licensed nursing facility administrators. This program includes all the graduate-level courses and the Administrator in Training (AIT) / Internship course (LTCA 5681) and hours, to meet the Texas requirements for the Nursing Facility Administrator license, issued by Texas Health and Human Services.

L.T.C.A. Graduate Certificate

The Graduate Certificate in Long Term Care Administration (L.T.C.A.) offers only the coursework required, but not the AIT/Internship course and hours, to meet the Texas requirements for the Nursing Facility Administrator license, issued by Texas Health and Human Services. Students who obtain the Graduate Certificate also need to satisfy the AIT/Internship requirements, either by completing the M.L.T.C.A. or by satisfying these requirements separately. 

Texas State University makes every effort to ensure state licensure or certification information is current; however, state requirements may change. While a program may originally meet the educational requirements for licensure, changes in requirements could impact the program's ability to meet any new educational requirements.

Prospective and current students should keep in mind that licensing and authorization requirements vary by state and that relocating during the course of a program to another state could impact whether that student can continue in the program. If students are considering relocating, they should contact their program director to check for authorization and licensure eligibility requirements.
