ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- A high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
- No felony or misdemeanor related to the sale of drugs. Traffic violations and any other issues must be cleared up before the externship. This is the sole responsibility of each student.
- A history of vaccinations is periodically required to work in the externship.
- Commitment to the rigorous 16-week course schedule
Registration and Enrollment
Jumpstart your healthcare career by enrolling in our Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) course! Gain the skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience needed to excel in clinical and administrative duties in the fast-growing medical field.
GET EXPERIENCE
In addition to 96 hours in the classroom and homework study time, our students are eligible to complete an 80-clock-hour externship experience. The externship serves as a working experience, as well as a reference for future employment. Students are also eligible to take exams to become certified as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) and EKG Technician (CET) after the course is complete.
EXTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY
An externship opportunity is part of the CCMA program. Students are encouraged to complete 80 hours in a local doctor's office or hospital to gain hands-on experience before sitting for the NHA certification exam. Once the student completes the class and the externship, a certificate of completion will be issued from Texas State University, Continuing Education.

Prepare to pass the NHA Exam
The CCMA program offers our students both theoretical and practical training through hands-on experience. The duration of the course is 16 weeks and includes preparation for the certification examination administered by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
